Travelling with your partner is the ultimate test of any relationship. Relationships are difficult but all you need to build it strong is to put in a lot of effort. And, in building a strong relationship one of the best hacks is to take vacations with your significant other. Vacations can make your bond much stronger and happier within a surprisingly short period. Vacations can change the direction of your relationship and will definitely give you a wider perspective of your future with your partner.
So should you travel with your partner? In my opinion, the answer is absolutely YES and here are the reasons why.

Getting out of your comfort zone to seek comfort around each other.

When you spend so much time with your partner on a vacation you realise that they are also simple humans, they also poop and smell of sweat sometimes like you, which is fine. They also have just as many shortcomings as you do. Many couples tend to hold back from their partner in efforts of being perfect. Travelling with your partner can blow your comfort zone as a couple, wide open. You get to know how your partner will react when faced with the limitations of their comfort zone. You can also learn their views and ideas about life while travelling.

Try to see if they have the same vacation interests as you, do they like to chill in their suites or explore the new city, do they like to explore new cafes or they want room service, do they try to learn new languages or cultures or do they stick to their same routine, trips can help you understand your partner a lot in so many ways. Travel allows you to spend real one on one time together, if you get out of your comfort zone by sharing your personal details with them, good or bad doesn’t matter, trust me things will get more comfortable. If they truly love you they will accept both your strengths and faults. Your love will grow more, real love where you both love everything about each other and then the moments that you share with them will be more authentic and memorable.

Break your normal routine and make memories

When you’ve been in a relationship for some time, you may have fallen into a predictable pattern. Nothing excites you at this point, regular sex, take outs, Netflix binging, etc. A vacation will break this routine of unhealthy relationship patterns that you might have fallen into. This break from reality will allow you to notice the things you can stop doing and the things you could do to spice up and make your relationship both happier and stronger. Frequent vacations can also help your relationship from getting boring because the excitement and joy of exploring new places help you explore your partner more.

The normal routine doesn’t give you much room to know your pattern in different situations of life. When it comes to that time of your life when your hair is grey you should have some incredible memories to tell that led you to marry your partner. The lifelong memories you create with your partner on a trip are priceless and what is even life without memories, right? When you travel with your partner you share so many memories with your lover and there really is nothing better.

Learn how they act in difficult situations and learn to compromise to gain compatibility

While travelling stressful situations will arise all the time, getting lost, missing trains/flights, losing passports, losing your wallet, etc. How your partner reacts to all these situations is a big revelation, you can learn from all these small but impactful situations as to how they’ll react to future life stress. While travelling, handling problems as a team is the best idea regardless of how big or small the problem might be. If you want to know or you wonder how your partner will react or handle a wedding, financial problems , children, etc travelling with them will provide you all the answers if you look for them carefully.

It’s only natural for two people to want different things but learning to agree to disagree helps always. With problems arising on your trip, there might be times when your approach to the same situation is different from your partner and that’s where you agree to disagree. Sometimes that’s exactly why travelling with your partner is essential, you’ll learn to compromise. Travelling together can give you many situations like these with little decisions that make up your 24 hours, like where will you go, how you want to go there, what to eat, how much to spend, etc. During the planning of a trip/vacation, only you’ll realise a lot of things that you may not want that your partner needs but you compromise sometimes and vice versa to build a strong relationship.

Learn their relationship with Money

Different opinions over money is one of the major sources of disagreements in a relationship. Your philosophy of money may not be the same as your partner, which hinders the smooth sailing of any relationship. You should learn your partner’s money habits early in a relationship to avoid any future drama.
A vacation gives you an insight into their money responsibilities and budgeting. There can be some habits that can be changed or managed with a little effort and these habits should be the cause of worry. But, if they are too frugal or too prodigal, then there’s a problem. If they put their miserly opinions in your way of having fun at a luxury stay that you are able to follow once a year then it could be a deal-breaker. Or if on the other hand, they are being too spendthrift, it can be a problem in your future financial situations. Settling for financial disasters is always a bad idea, so a vacation in a relationship can help you a lot to know your partner and their money habits.

At last, our life is just a sum total of our experiences, you are bound to form a stronger and healthy relationship with your partner if you have shared a lot of experience, good or bad. Lose yourself in the moment and enjoy life with your partner to the fullest. You’ll be glad you took the trip at last and will realise why you fell in love with your partner in the first place. There’s something in foreign air that makes it all look right. What are you waiting for? Go plan a trip with your lover!
