Thrillers are sold more than any other genre of fiction combined. This isn’t surprising if you keep an eye on bestseller lists or popular fiction tables at your local bookshop, since you’ve probably noticed the growth in popularity of thrillers in recent years.

We created a list of the top thriller books of all time to salute the genre. It compiles a list of the top books based on bestseller lists, Amazon ranks, and Goodreads ratings, and presents them in no particular order. Have fun!

A: A Time to Kill

John Grisham is one of today’s most well-known legal thriller authors, and his first novel, “A Time to Kill,” is still a dear favourite among his fans. Carl Lee takes matters into his own hands after his daughter is assaulted by two racist guys, and then seeks the support of his defense attorney friend Jake Brigance when the law tries to hold him accountable. The book’s assessment of how race frequently plays a significant influence in how justice is viewed is a timely message.

B: Before I Go to Sleep

Before I Go to Sleep,” S.J. Watson’s debut novel, has been translated into 40 languages and was a best seller in five countries, from France to the United States. Christine Lucas, a lady with anterograde amnesia who wakes up each day unsure of her identity, is the focus of this psychological thriller. She starts keeping a book in the hopes of regaining her memories, but it doesn’t take long for this journal to indicate that there’s more going on than meets the eye.

C: Clear and Present Danger

The criminal group replies by assassinating the FBI director after he seizes a substantial quantity of money from a drug cartel in the first pages of “Clear and Present Danger.” Jack Ryan, a top CIA official, is tasked with coming up with a suitable response, but he immediately suspects treachery within his own men. Before any more lives are lost, Ryan must move immediately to guarantee that justice is served.

D: Dark Matter

Jason Dessen, a college physics professor, is knocked unconscious in the first pages of “Dark Matter,” only to awaken in another universe. Dessen is a recognized genius in this alternate reality, his wife is no longer his wife, and his son never existed. Dessen must fight a mysterious antagonist, true evil, and a part of himself he’s never been willing to address in order to return to “reality.”

E: Eileen

Ottessa Moshfegh’s “Eileen,” a literary thriller, is darkly comic in the manner of Shirley Jackson’s work. It revolves around Eileen, a mentally troubled secretary in a boy’s prison who spends her days caring for her alcoholic father. When a new counselor, Rebecca Saint John, arrives at the prison, Eileen develops an intense affection for her, which leads to a heinous act.

F: Fallen

Daniel Grigori has an uncanny resemblance to someone you know. He captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. Mysterious and aloof, he captures her attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the lone bright light in a place where cellphones are prohibited, the other pupils are all jerks, and security cameras are constantly watching.

G: Glitch

There is no longer any sorrow or war in the Community. Humanity has been cleansed of toxic emotions thanks to implanted computer chips, and thoughts have been replaced with a broadcast from the Link network.

When Zoe begins to malfunction (or “glitch”), she develops her own thoughts, feelings, and sense of self. Any abnormalities must be reported and rectified very once, but Zoe has a dark secret that if discovered will result in her deactivation: her glitches have given her unrestrained telekinetic skills.

H: Halfway to the Grave

Half-vampire is pursuing the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these scumbags is her father, the man who ruined her mother’s life. Then Bones, a vampire bounty hunter kidnaps her and forces her into an odd alliance.

Cat and Bones are hunted by a group of killers before she can enjoy her fame as a badass demon hunter. The cat will now have to pick a side… and Bones is proving to be as seductive as any man with a pulse.

I: Insurgent

One decision has the power to either alter or destroy you. Tris Prior must continue to strive to preserve those she loves — and herself — while coping with frightening questions of sorrow and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love, as unrest erupts in the factions all around her.

The much-anticipated second installment of New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth’s dystopian DIVERGENT series is another thrilling thrill ride of a narrative, replete with trademark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and deep insights into human nature.

J: James and the Giant Peach

Strange things begin to happen as James accidentally drops some magic crystals near the old peach tree. The peach at the top of the tree begins to ripen, and it soon grows to be the size of a house. James makes fascinating new pals when he uncovers a secret entrance way into the fruit and crawls inside — the Old-Green-Grasshopper, the delicate Ladybug, and the Centipede of the Multiple Boots. This is Roald Dahl’s earliest and most famous book for children, and it continues to enthrall readers all over the world.

K: Keeping the Moon

When Colie is assigned to spend the summer with her eccentric aunt Mira while her mother, the queen of the television infomercial, tours Europe, she expects the worst. Colie has no friends at home and doesn’t expect to find any in Colby, North Carolina. Colie has always been an outsider, first for being obese and then for being “easy.”

Jules, recently heartbroken and broke, is seduced by the beauty of her surroundings and agrees to the terms, willing to put her previous life behind.

M: Miracle Creek

What lengths will you go to defend your loved ones? Will you keep their secrets hidden from them? Ignore their deception? A group of folks in a small Virginia town knows one other because they’re members of a unique treatment center, a hyperbaric chamber that can treat everything from infertility to autism. The chamber then bursts, killing two people, and it becomes evident that the explosion was not an accident.
